Creative design & Production of Le Petit Bateau Float at Mardi Gras 2020
Awarded with Best Float Design 2020.
Le Petit Bateau is an art collective formed by artists from all around the world, located in the famous Eastern suburbs of Sydney.
In collaboration with the founders of LPB, we created and designed the concept for the open call to participate in the Mardi Gras Parade. We came with the concept of The Arc, and we won.
Mardi Gras is about being inclusive, spreading equal love to everyone, and that was what The Arc represented. It has been build to remind us that we are all in the same boat.
Besides the message inclusivity, we worked with the Pyrmont Sailing Club collecting old pieces of boats, re-used materials, and ocean trash to spread consciousness about the life and care of our oceans.
Not only the float was made out of recycling materials, the performers who paraded were invited to create unique pieces out of trash they collected, to inspire people that everything can be up-cycle.
